Numbers never lie - do the math.

With Telemachus Press a successful author will make more money. A lot more.

To insure the greatest return you must first understand the business side of independent publishing and how authors get paid. Then, you need to select a publishing partner who has a simple and honest publishing services agreement.

Let’s look at an example that depicts your profits with Telemachus Press vs. other “Self-Publishers.” You need to understand the three places where self-publishers take profits away from authors.

The first is the wholesale discount percentage. Online retailers will sell your POD book for 20%. Period. End of story. We do it every day. If your self-publisher tells you that the share to Amazon or anyone else in an online sale needs to be higher, you are not getting the facts. Wonder where the difference goes?

The second is the cost to print the book. It’s simple. It will cost ninety cents plus 1.3 cents per page to have Lightning Source, Inc. print and handle each copy of your book. A 300-page book will cost $4.80. If your self-publisher tells you that the cost to print your book is any more, they are taking you for a ride.

The third is the absolute ridiculous act of giving your self-publisher any portion of your book’s profits. Why should you do this? You paid them to perform a service.

The remaining issues of who owns your publishing rights, covers and other property are also abominations. Read the contract before you sign and make sure that no ambiguous language is present. Read the Telemachus Press agreement. You own your publishing rights; you keep all of your royalties.

What Are They Saying?

After 24 children’s books with Steve, Terri and the Telemachus crew I can't say anything but good about them. It’s been a long haul and they've been with me every step of the way. There are easily over 500 illustrations in these books and all have been formatted perfectly. They knew where the illustrations fit in the stories and did it. There are 60 different stories in the 5 'Animal Tails' books and again everything was exact. I've never had one complaint about anything in all the years I've been with them. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or new author, from my experience with Telemachus you can't go wrong. The book you want is the one you'll get. Guaranteed.
